Overview

Zaborin is a small modern ryokan in a birch forest at Hanazono, part of the wider Niseko resort in western Hokkaido. It has 15 separate villas in Japanese or Western layouts, some with an extra 7-mat room for families, looking toward Mt. Yotei or the Annupuri hills. Each has two private baths, indoor and outdoor, filled with source-flowing water pumped from about 1,000 metres below the property. Dinner is chef Yoshihiro Seno's 'Kita kaiseki', a northern take on kaiseki using Hokkaido produce, served in the dining room; dinner and breakfast are included in the rate. Guests staying four nights or more get one irori dinner.
