About this experience
An early-morning run between two Tokyo landmarks: under the orange lattice of Tokyo Tower, up through Roppongi, past the timber eaves of the Japan National Stadium and Harajuku, ending at the Shibuya Crossing. One start a day at 09:30, while the roads are still quiet.
Tokyo Tower opened in 1958 and was the city's symbol for half a century before Skytree. Its orange-and-white lattice still dominates Minato, and this route starts right beneath it.
The group heads up through Roppongi, past the Japan National Stadium with its wooden eaves, through Harajuku and down to the Shibuya Crossing. There is one start a day, at 09:30, chosen because the central roads are quieter in the morning than at any other time.
It is the route for landmarks: two of Tokyo's best-known sights at either end of one hour, driven before the city gets busy.
After the 09:30 drive you are in Shibuya by late morning, with the day still ahead. Tokyo Tower itself, Zojo-ji temple beside it and the Roppongi Hills area are easy to return to later, and Harajuku is a short walk from the finish.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Why does it end in Shibuya and not back at the tower?▾
The route is built as a drive between two landmarks, so it finishes at the crossing rather than looping back.
Is 09:30 the only time?▾
Yes, one start a day. For more flexible times, the Shibuya route runs every hour.
Why only one start time?▾
The route crosses busy central roads, so it runs once a day at 09:30 before the traffic builds up.
