If you are using public transportation, JR Mugi Line’s Minami-Komatsushima Station is the nearest station. The venue is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes on foot from the station.

Large-scale traffic restrictions will be put in place around the venue on the day of the fireworks display. In particular, vehicle access is scheduled to be prohibited throughout the Shinko wharf area and in front of the Komatsushima Minato Exchange Center kocolo from around 15:30 until around 22:00.

JR Shikoku is scheduled to operate special trains between Tokushima Station and Minami-Komatsushima Station to coincide with the fireworks display. However, the station will be extremely crowded after the fireworks end, so purchasing tickets in advance or ensuring that your transit IC card has sufficient balance is recommended. Please check the official JR Shikoku website for the latest service information.

If you are arriving by car, the venue is approximately 20 minutes by car from the Tokushima-Tsuda IC on the Tokushima-Nanbu Expressway. However, traffic restrictions and crowded parking lots are expected, so using public transportation is recommended.

Paid Seating and Tickets

Paid viewing seats will be available at the Komatsushima Port Festival Fireworks Display. In 2026, a “Special Viewing Seats and Dedicated Parking Package,” allowing visitors to enjoy both the Blue Impulse flight demonstration commemorating the 75th anniversary of the city’s incorporation and the fireworks display, was offered as a hometown tax donation gift. Due to its popularity, however, it has already sold out.

Since the area around the main venue becomes extremely crowded, here are several lesser-known spots where you can enjoy the fireworks at a relaxed pace from a little farther away.

• Hinomineyama Observatory (ひのみねやまてんぼうだい) Located on high ground overlooking the city, this spectacular spot lets you watch the fireworks alongside the nighttime scenery. Since it is some distance from the venue, it is recommended for those who want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fireworks in peace. It is conveniently accessible by car, but arriving early to secure a spot is recommended.

• Komatsushima Minato Joint Government Building Plaza Relatively close to the launch site and with few buildings obstructing the view, this hidden spot offers an impressive, unobstructed view of the fireworks from the front. It is generally less crowded than the main venue.

• Shiokaze Park This park is located near the Komatsushima Minato Exchange Center kocolo and is recommended for families. It has restrooms, making it a comfortable place to enjoy the fireworks even with small children.

• Around Akaishi East Pier (あかいしひがしふとうしゅうへん) One of the official viewing areas designated by Komatsushima City, it is a little farther from the main venue and therefore not as crowded as the Shinko wharf. The fireworks are clearly visible, and the area also offers a view of the Blue Impulse daytime flight demonstration, making it convenient for visitors planning to stay all day.

• Around Komatsushima Station Park Easily accessible from JR Minami-Komatsushima Station, this spot has plenty of open space, making it easy for groups to secure a place. In 2026, it has also been designated as an official Blue Impulse viewing spot.
