This 16 km boat ride to Arashiyama offers a complete Arashiyama experience. You don't have to worry about carrying your luggage, as we will transport it for you. However, please note that there are no changing rooms at the finish line. We therefore recommend visiting Arashiyama Onsen's Fufu no Yu, where you can enjoy the hot springs and other amenities. The boat ride does not require continuous rowing for 16 km. You only need to paddle when necessary, following the guide's instructions. This means that even those who are not confident in their physical strength can participate and enjoy the experience. The morning departure is scheduled to arrive in Arashiyama at around 12:30 p.m., while the afternoon departure is scheduled to arrive at around 5 p.m. You can then relax and enjoy the hot springs after the boat ride. We highly recommend this experience because it includes everything you could want—a boat ride and hot springs. *You will not paddle continuously for the entire 16 km. Paddle only when necessary according to the guide's instructions. Even those who are not confident in their physical strength can enjoy participating in the boat ride.

Required reading

Please note the following precautions regarding typhoons and torrential rain: The tour will proceed rain or shine, but the course may be changed or canceled in the event of bad weather or rising water levels. *If the tour is canceled, Hozugawa Yusen staff will contact the representative. There will be no fees for schedule changes or cancellations. As weather conditions can be unpredictable, please contact us before the tour departs if the weather is unstable. Please be advised that if you are forced to cancel on the day of the tour, you will be responsible for transportation costs to the venue.
Please note the following guidelines before participating in the tour: - Drinking alcohol during the tour is strictly prohibited. - If you appear to be under the influence of alcohol at reception, you will not be allowed to join the tour. - Please refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages until the tour ends, including during lunch. - If you are found to be under the influence of alcohol during the tour, it will be treated as a cancellation, and the participation fee will not be refunded. - Entering the river while under the influence of alcohol is hazardous. For your safety, please understand and follow these guidelines.
If you are injured during the tour, we will provide first aid on site and, if necessary, arrange transportation or request emergency services. Please bring a copy of your health insurance card, as you will be responsible for paying for any treatment at a medical institution. You must also bear the cost of any subsequent hospitalization, although our accident insurance policy may apply.
Please note the following restrictions regarding weight and physique: Individuals who are severely obese may be unable to participate due to safety concerns. Their weight may affect the boat's balance, and we may be unable to assist them in an emergency. Please consult us in advance if you have any concerns or questions about eligibility. For reference, a suitable wetsuit size would be 3XL based on the following measurements: height 190cm, chest 119cm, waist 96cm, hips 114cm, and weight 105kg.

Restrictions

Individuals aged 7 and above are eligible to participate.
Guests with visible tattoos may be denied access to the hot spring facility. Please inform us in advance.
Please note that each boat has a maximum capacity of 7 people. Groups of more than 7 people will be divided among multiple boats.
