The Shakotan Peninsula, sparkling in 'Shakotan Blue,' is a spectacular scenic route even in autumn! Jutting out into the Sea of Japan, the Shakotan Peninsula is famed for its jewel-like sparkling ocean known as 'Shakotan Blue,' alongside steep cliffs and towering unique rock formations. To fully enjoy the Shakotan area, a regular sightseeing bus is highly recommended! This course visits three spots in Shakotan: 'Cape Kamui', 'Misaki-no-Yu Shakotan', and the 'Shimamui Coast'. Cape Kamui is located at the northwestern tip of the Shakotan Peninsula and is a scenic spot offering vast ocean views. Let's admire this rugged and majestic cape jutting out into the sparkling sea under the autumn sky. After viewing Cape Kamui, it's time for lunch and a hot spring soak at Misaki-no-Yu Shakotan. For lunch, we have prepared 'Hamanabe' (seafood hot pot) generously packed with seasonal seafood, which will warm up your body chilled by the autumn sea breeze. After lunch, you can relax and enjoy a bath while gazing out at the vast ocean. Warmed to the core, you will then head to the Shimamui Coast. A renowned scenic spot selected as one of 'Japan's 100 Best Beaches', you will pass through a 30-meter-long tunnel, originally dug to transport herring, to reach the shore. The emerald green ocean spreading out before your eyes as you emerge from the dark tunnel is truly nothing short of breathtaking. Additionally, 'Roadside Station Space Apple Yoichi', where we stop on the way, and 'Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkogura', where we stop on the way back, are must-see spots. At the Roadside Station Space Apple Yoichi, apple pies made with Yoichi's specialty apples and creamy soft-serve ice cream are very popular. At Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkogura, you can purchase Otaru's local sake as souvenirs and enjoy tastings. Running along a highly varied coastline, the scenery from the bus window is an activity in itself on this course. Please enjoy the spectacular views unfolding at every turn on this regular sightseeing bus.
