Operated by: 北海道中央バス· Departs from: Hokkaido

A hugely popular route taking you to Furano’s lavender fields and the Shirogane Blue Pond all in one day! Ride a bus equipped with a multilingual audio guide system in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean as you explore the highlights of Furano and Biei, known for their colorful flower fields and expansive rolling landscapes. After departing from Sapporo Station, the first stop is Furano Highland, a hot spring accommodation facility surrounded by vast forests and lavender fields and blessed with a rich natural environment. The vivid purple flower fields stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a “sea of lavender”! The grounds feature walking paths where you can enjoy forest bathing while admiring various flowers and wild birds. At Furano Highland, you can enjoy a mini cheese fondue made with Furano cheese, as well as a Kamifurano pork hamburger steak set meal. Through dishes prepared with local ingredients, you can fully experience the charms of Furano and Biei through their cuisine as well. After lunch, head to Farm Tomita, a tourist farm that began cultivating lavender in 1958 (Showa 33). Centered around lavender, the farm has 14 flower fields where you can enjoy colorful floral scenery throughout the seasons. The grounds include a shop selling a variety of original products, including soaps, perfumes, and massage oils. There are also many other facilities, including a café, gallery, and lavender distillation workshop. After passing along Roller Coaster Road, continue to Shikisai no Oka. More than 30 varieties of flowers are planted throughout the grounds, blooming in succession from May through late October. The best viewing period is from late July to late September. Gently undulating hills spread out like a patchwork quilt, covered in vibrant flower fields and creating magnificent scenery. We recommend taking the sightseeing tractor Shikisai Norokko-go for an approximately 15-minute tour of the grounds (additional fee required). Shikisai no Oka is also home to alpacas, and visitors can choose to purchase an additional admission experience to enjoy interacting with and feeding them. On the way back to Sapporo, you can admire Patchwork Road and the Seven Star Tree from the bus window. The highlight of this tour is the Shirogane Blue Pond, now one of Biei’s most iconic attractions. Its cobalt-blue surface, resembling a painting, reflects the quietly standing larch trees and creates a dreamlike atmosphere. The scenery changes with the weather and light, revealing a mysterious and captivating beauty. In the Furano and Biei areas, where rolling hills and colorful flower fields abound, you can encounter breathtaking scenery whether admiring the views from the bus window or visiting each attraction in person.
