D Lake Shikotsu・Lake Toya Round Trip Course (Audio Guide)

This course takes you around Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya, known for their clear, beautiful waters, as well as Mt. Usu, which has been designated a World Geopark, all in one day. Enjoy Hokkaido’s natural beauty aboard a bus equipped with a multilingual guidance system supporting Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese. Lake Shikotsu was selected as having “Japan’s No. 1 water quality” for 11 consecutive years in the past and is known for its exceptional clarity. After getting off the bus, you can admire the clear blue lake up close and enjoy the sparkling scenery as it reflects the light. At the nearby Lake Shikotsu Visitor Center, you can also learn about the terrain formed by volcanic activity and the local flora and fauna. After sightseeing at Lake Shikotsu, travel to Lake Toya, stopping at Kinoko Kingdom Otaki Main Store along the way for a break and shopping. The store offers more than 2,000 types of souvenirs, with processed foods made using mushrooms among its signature products. Lake Toya is a caldera lake formed by a volcanic eruption approximately 100,000 years ago. Lunch is served at Toya Kohantei, located along the lakeshore. Enjoy a meal made with locally produced seafood, vegetables, and pork. The stay is approximately 70 minutes, allowing you to take a walk along the lakeshore after your meal. ※ During some periods, lunch will be at your own expense. In this case, approximately 60 minutes for a stay and meal will be provided at Kinoko Kingdom. After sightseeing at Lake Toya, travel to Mt. Usu, the first site in Japan to be designated a World Geopark. Ride the Usuzan Ropeway and enjoy the natural scenery from the summit observatory and walking trails. As an optional activity, you can also visit Showa Shinzan Bear Park, where you can observe and feed the bears.
