Okinawa has NO trains — JR Pass useless there. Spend 7 days in Okinawa (no pass), 7 days on mainland (Tokyo+Kansai+Kyushu). Use 7-day JR Pass for mainland leg only. Time the activation carefully to avoid wasted days in Okinawa.
