Ine Funaya Ine Village ranks among Japan's 18 most picturesque villages, celebrated for its remarkable funaya fishing houses that seem to float above the water. This coastal settlement offers visitors an authentic glimpse rarely found in typical tourist areas. More than 230 funaya structures line the 5-kilometer southern shore of Ine Bay, where inhabitants maintain their traditional maritime way of life. Transparent waters, densely forested hillsides, ever-shifting skies, and the distinctive colors of these historically designed structures combine to create an unparalleled setting found nowhere else in Japan.
