Come si svolge la giornata
Day 1 · 06:00
The car meets you in the hotel lobby while the roads are still empty. The early start is deliberate — after nine in the morning the Hakone pass fills with tour traffic and the photographs stop working.
Day 1 · 08:00
Up the Hakone Turnpike, the best mountain road near Tokyo, stopping at the viewpoints along it. On a clear morning Mount Fuji stands whole on your left.
Day 1 · 10:30
Around Lake Ashi and the sulphur vents at Owakudani. The driver sets you down at each entrance and goes to park, so none of the day is spent looking for a space.
Day 1 · 14:00
Over to the Fuji Five Lakes, stopping at Kawaguchiko and Oishi Park. Afternoon is when the water is flattest, which is when the mountain's reflection actually shows.
Day 1 · 17:30
To the hotel for the night — either staying by the lakes or back in Tokyo, whichever you choose at booking.
Day 2 · 09:00
A later start than day one, down to Yokohama along the bay road. The second day is deliberately slower because its centrepiece falls after dark.
Day 2 · 11:00
Minato Mirai and Yokohama Chinatown, with time for an unhurried lunch. If anyone wants to shop, this is the longest stop of the two days.
Day 2 · 16:00
Back to the hotel to rest and change before the night leg. There are a lot of photographs later, which is worth a break in the middle.
Day 2 · 18:00
The night leg begins: Tokyo Tower as the lights come on, then out to the Daikoku car park in the middle of the bay. Your car parked there is part of the scene rather than something watching it.
Day 2 · 20:20
Night photographs at the Shibuya crossing, then the trip ends in central Tokyo around 21:00.

- The Alphard seats seven. The royal-lounge Lexus LM500 has only four seats and the Mercedes G63 four as well — a party of five or more takes the Alphard, or tells us in advance so we add a second car.
- Which car you get depends on what is free that day; the earlier you book, the more certain we can hold the one you want
- Book 72 hours ahead, pay 48 hours ahead
- The Hakone pass can close for snow or a storm. If that happens we reroute to the lakes and tell you beforehand, not when you get there.
- Nobody can promise how many good cars turn up at Daikoku on a given night; that gathering is spontaneous
- • Come funziona la prenotazione — è immediata?
- Non è una conferma immediata. La prenotazione esiste solo quando accetta il preventivo. Più lento di un pulsante Prenota ora, ma non le vendiamo nulla che non sia davvero disponibile.
- • Saremo raggruppati con altri viaggiatori?
- No. Tutti i tour di queste due sezioni sono privati: solo il vostro gruppo, un veicolo dedicato, un referente dedicato. Nessuna condivisione, nessuna attesa.
- • Che cosa serve per guidare?
- La patente originale in corso di validità PIÙ un permesso internazionale rilasciato ai sensi della Convenzione di Ginevra del 1949 — entrambi in originale cartaceo, le foto sul telefono non valgono. Il Giappone non riconosce i permessi della Convenzione di Vienna, quindi alcune nazionalità necessitano di una traduzione ufficiale. Indicate la nazionalità nella richiesta così verifichiamo in anticipo, invece che scoprirlo davanti all'auto.
- • Dove avvengono il ritiro e il rientro?
- Ritiro e rientro al vostro hotel nell'area centrale della città indicata, inclusi nel prezzo. Fuori da quell'area veniamo comunque a prendervi: il supplemento è scritto nel preventivo, mai aggiunto al momento di salire in auto.
- • L'itinerario può essere modificato?
- Sì. Il programma orario qui sopra è la versione che funziona meglio, non uno stampo rigido. Più tempo di guida, un pasto diverso, una notte in più o una tappa in meno: scrivetelo nella richiesta; il prezzo si adegua e la modifica è dettagliata nel preventivo.
- • Che lingue parla il team?
- Indichi la lingua desiderata nella richiesta. Il preventivo dirà se una persona che la parla è disponibile NELLA VOSTRA DATA: non promettiamo una lingua per poi dirvi il giorno stesso che non c'è nessuno.
- • Quando e come si paga?
- Non paga nulla prima di aver letto e accettato il preventivo. Metodo di pagamento, scadenze e quale parte richiede un acconto per bloccare una prenotazione di terzi sono tutti scritti lì. Dopo non compare nulla.
- • Con quanto anticipo conviene prenotare?
- Prima è, più sicuro è. Elicotteri, camere di ryokan, supercar e tavoli di piccoli ristoranti hanno pochissimi posti al giorno: il denaro non ne crea. Chiedete comunque se le date sono vicine: se c'è posto lo prendiamo, altrimenti ve lo diciamo chiaramente.
Cancellazione e cambio data
Le condizioni di cancellazione del vostro viaggio sono scritte nel preventivo e le leggete PRIMA di pagare qualsiasi cosa.
Non affiggiamo una regola unica del tipo «annulla X giorni prima per riavere il Y%» su tutta la sezione, perché ogni viaggio blocca prenotazioni diverse: un charter aereo, una camera di ryokan, una supercar, un tavolo da pochi coperti. Ogni fornitore ha le sue condizioni e la maggior parte è pagata in anticipo. Un numero unico sembrerebbe ordinato e sarebbe quello sbagliato per quasi tutti i viaggi.
Il principio a cui ci atteniamo: ciò che non è ancora stato versato a un fornitore si può cancellare, e ciò che è già pagato e che il fornitore non rimborsa lo chiamiamo non rimborsabile ad alta voce — in fase di preventivo, non quando chiedete di annullare. Se volete un'altra data, chiedete prima di annullare: spostare costa di solito molto meno che rinunciare.
