You can watch exciting sumo matches by former wrestlers, interact with them, and even step into the ring for a sumo experience. There is also a hands-on display featuring the big-size clothing once worn by the famous former wrestler Konishiki, as well as his large, heavy shoes. You can also try on a kimono, enjoy professional dressing services for an additional fee, and purchase one as a souvenir. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the show. ※ If you arrive after the show has started, the curtain will be closed. Please enter and proceed to the area in front of the torii gate. A staff member will come to meet you. ◎ From arrival until the sumo show begins You can enjoy your meal and visit the various booths while wearing one of the haori kimonos available inside the venue. You may also take photos in the sumo ring. ・Konishiki Booth At the Konishiki Booth, you can view and touch items used by Konishiki, the first foreign-born wrestler to reach the rank of ozeki, during his active career, including a formal crested kimono and hakama, geta sandals, and floor cushions. ・Kimono Booth ※ Jacket-style kimono experience (free) Kimono dressing by a professional instructor is available as an option for 3000 yen. ・Food and Drinks You can order chanko hot pot supervised by a sumo stable (4000 yen), street-stall dishes, Japanese cuisine (800 yen and up), and drinks (500 yen) at your seat. ※ Guests who plan to eat or try on a kimono are recommended to arrive 60 minutes before the show to allow plenty of time. ◎ Authentic Sumo Show Supervised by Former Ozeki Konishiki, Including a Sumo Experience (Approximately 50 to 70 minutes, including a 5-minute intermission) ① Demonstration of the basics, movements, and rules of sumo (approximately 20 minutes) Enjoy an authentic sumo show supervised by Konishiki and performed by former professional wrestlers. Learn the basic movements, rules, winning techniques, and prohibited techniques of sumo. ② Three-Match Showdown (approximately 5 to 10 minutes) A serious three-match showdown performed by former wrestlers. The matches are genuine contests with no improvisation. ③ Photo Session (approximately 5 to 10 minutes) Step into the sumo ring and take photos with the former wrestlers. You can also have a memorial-label drink made on the spot using the photos taken that day (1000 yen). ④ Sumo Experience (approximately 10 to 20 minutes) Put on a sumo suit or mawashi and experience sumo for yourself. Feel the astonishing power of the wrestlers. After the experience, you can take photos with the wrestlers while still wearing the sumo suit or mawashi. ※ This experience is available to guests who request it on the day. We accommodate as many guests as possible, but if the number of applicants reaches capacity, participants may be selected by lottery.
