The area around the venue becomes extremely crowded on the day of the fireworks display, so using public transportation is recommended.

By Train

The venue is approximately a 10-minute walk from Iyo-Mishima Station on the JR Yosan Line. From the station, follow the signs toward the port.

By Car

From the Mishima-Kawanoe Interchange on the Matsuyama Expressway, take National Route 11 Bypass toward Matsuyama for approximately 10 minutes.

Parking
Approximately 700 free parking spaces will be available at public facilities near Minato Memorial Park and Shikoku Chuo City Hall. However, spaces are limited, so arriving early is recommended.

Traffic restrictions
Traffic restrictions are scheduled to be in place from 19:00 until around 21:00 on the day of the fireworks display. Vehicles will be prohibited from entering areas north of National Route 11 (the seaside area) around the venue. Visitors arriving by car will need to use parking outside the restricted area and walk to the venue. Be sure to check the time of the last train home and allow plenty of extra time.

Reserved Seating and Tickets

No paid viewing areas are scheduled for the 2026 Shikoku Chuo City Minato Festival Fireworks Display. All viewing areas will be free to use, so bring a picnic sheet or similar and enjoy the fireworks from a spot of your choice.

Lesser-Known Viewing Spots

For those who want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fireworks at a more leisurely pace, here are several lesser-known viewing spots.

1. Gujō Observatory Gujō Observatory in Samukawa, Shikoku Chuo City, is a spectacular viewpoint selected as one of the “Top 100 Night Views in Japan.” From here, you can enjoy the beautiful nighttime factory views of Shikoku Chuo City along with the fireworks, creating a romantic atmosphere. It is some distance from the venue, but that also makes it possible to avoid the crowds and take in the magnificent scenery.

2. Around Minato Memorial Park Located near the venue, Minato Memorial Park is also used for parking. It is relatively close to the fireworks launch site, making it one of the spots where you can enjoy powerful, up-close views of the display. If you secure a spot early, you may be able to relax and enjoy the fireworks.

3. Elevated areas and open spaces a little farther away One of the distinctive features of the area around Mishima-Kawanoe Port is that the fireworks can be seen from a wide area. In particular, elevated areas and open spaces a little farther from the venue offer fantastical nighttime views where the city lights blend with the fireworks. We recommend checking specific locations on a map in advance and making sure that nothing will obstruct your view.

A. The event will go ahead in light rain, but in the event of severe weather, it will be postponed to Sunday, July 26, 2026. A. Yes. Food stalls offering local dishes and specialties, along with a wide variety of vendors, will line the area around the venue and add to the festival atmosphere.

Q. Are there any events to enjoy besides the fireworks display?
A. The fireworks display is the finale of the “Shikoku Chuo City Minato Festival.” On Friday, July 24, 2026, the day before the fireworks, an “Odori Dance Festival” will be held along the shopping street in front of Iyo-Mishima Station. Approximately 1,000 dancers will perform songs such as the “Shikoku Domannaka Ondo,” filling the entire city with excitement. We recommend enjoying the festival as a whole along with the fireworks display.
