An exhibition where you can experience Zen in the world of the 96th Academy Award-winning film, "The Boy and the Heron"!
Originating from the book "Zen and Ghibli," a collection of dialogues between Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and a Zen monk, the "Zen and Ghibli" Kyoto Exhibition is an unprecedented experiential exhibition where visitors can touch upon "Zen" through Ghibli works.
The space is structured primarily around director Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, "The Boy and the Heron" (2023), which recorded the highest overseas attendance in Studio Ghibli's history. Through memorable quotes and scene photos from various works, as well as calligraphy by producer Toshio Suzuki, a "Zen" perspective is brought to life three-dimensionally.
There are no "answers" in this exhibition.
Please enjoy it as if taking a leisurely detour.
In Kyoto, where Zen temples and Zen culture still breathe as part of the everyday scenery, "take a break, take a rest."
Exhibition Period: Saturday, October 3, 2026 - Sunday, December 6 (57 days)
Opening Hours: 10:00 - 18:00 *Last admission is 30 minutes before closing.
