Your adventure begins in Tokyo, where you will take the train to Hiroshima independently. Once you arrive, you will meet your guide to start the tour.
From Hiroshima, you will head to the coast to board a ferry to the magical island of Miyajima. Famous for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful natural scenery, the island is home to the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its “floating” torii gate, which seems to rise from the water at high tide, is one of Japan’s most celebrated landmarks.
On Miyajima, you can stroll through charming streets, explore historic temples, and sample local delicacies such as fresh oysters and momiji manju, sweet treats shaped like maple leaves. Friendly deer roaming freely add a unique charm to your visit.
After your exploration, you will take the ferry back to Hiroshima and visit the Peace Memorial Park, a place of profound historical significance. Here you can see the Peace Memorial, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and various monuments honoring the victims of the 1945 bombing. Walking through this area offers a moving reflection on peace and the resilience of the Japanese people.
At the end of the day, you will return to Hiroshima Station and take the train back to Tokyo on your own, bringing with you lasting memories of two of Japan’s most remarkable destinations.
