Visit Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya, known for their beautiful waters, as well as Mt. Usu, a UNESCO Global Geopark, all in one day.
This course is operated with a bus equipped with a multilingual audio guidance system available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, allowing you to explore the magnificent nature of Hokkaido.
Lake Shikotsu has been ranked No.1 in water quality in Japan for 11 consecutive years and is known for its exceptional clarity. Step off the bus and admire the clear blue waters reflecting the surrounding light. Nearby, the Lake Shikotsu Visitor Center provides information about the area’s volcanic history and the flora and fauna that inhabit the region.
After visiting Lake Shikotsu, the tour continues to Lake Toya, with a stop at Mushroom Kingdom Otaki Main Store for rest and shopping. With over 2,000 types of souvenirs available, products made with mushrooms are especially recommended.
Lake Toya is a caldera lake formed by volcanic eruptions approximately 100,000 years ago. Lunch will be served at Toyako Kohantei ※, located along the lakeside. You can enjoy a meal featuring local seafood, vegetables, and pork while taking in the surrounding natural scenery of Hokkaido. The stay here is approximately 70 minutes, allowing time for a stroll along the lakeside after lunch.
※During certain periods, meals will be at your own expense, with approximately 60 minutes allocated for both stay and meal time at Mushroom Kingdom.
After visiting Lake Toya, the tour heads to Mt. Usu, the first site in Japan to be designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Enjoy an aerial ride on the Usuzan Ropeway and take in the spectacular views from the summit terrace and walking paths. Optionally, you can also visit Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch, where you can observe the bears and enjoy feeding experiences.
This course allows you to fully appreciate the natural beauty created by lakes, forests, and mountains. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a journey through the vast landscapes of Hokkaido with a comfortable bus ride and professional driver.
