【北海道定期观光巴士】E “Explore 积丹” Scenic 积丹岬 Route

A classic itinerary for enjoying the breathtaking scenery and delicious cuisine of the 积丹 Peninsula to the fullest! Shaped like a peninsula extending into the Sea of Japan, the 积丹 Peninsula is famous for its jewel-like sea, known as “积丹蓝,” as well as its magnificent landscape of sheer cliffs and towering unusual rock formations. Come aboard the scheduled sightseeing bus and experience the charm of the 积丹 area! This itinerary visits “神威岬,” “岛武意海岸,” and the “积丹水中展望船 新积丹号” at 美国渔港. 神威岬 is located at the northwestern tip of the 积丹 Peninsula, with a walking trail approximately 770 m long leading to the tip of the cape. Once you reach the end, you can take in a magnificent panoramic view of the vast ocean and its gently curving horizon—a truly breathtaking sight! 岛武意海岸 is one of the scenic spots selected for the “100 Best Coasts in Japan.” To reach the coast, you will pass through a tunnel approximately 30 m long that was dug to transport herring. After passing through the dim tunnel, a jewel-like emerald-green ocean comes into view. The “新积丹号,” located at 美国渔港, is one of the few underwater sightseeing boats in Hokkaido. Through the viewing windows inside the boat, you can enjoy the ever-changing underwater world, including emerald-green waters, unusual rock formations, and schools of fish swimming freely. You can even feed seagulls on the return journey! ※ ※Boarding the “新积丹号” is an optional expense（at your own cost）. A seafood rice bowl will be served for lunch. From Monday to Friday, lunch will be at “海鲜味处 新生,” while on Saturdays and Sundays, it will be arranged at “岬之汤 积丹,” where you can savor Hokkaido’s abundant fresh seafood. In addition, “道之驿 Space Apple余市,” which the bus stops at on both the outbound and return journeys, is highly popular for its apple pies made with apples, a specialty of 余市町, as well as its rich and smooth soft-serve ice cream. Don’t miss them! This itinerary travels along a coastline offering a wonderfully varied landscape, and enjoying the scenery from the bus windows is one of the highlights of the journey.
