Enjoy the spectacular scenery and history of 小樽! An exciting course that also stops at 白い恋人パーク
The town of 小樽 was recognized as a "Japan Heritage" site in 2025. This course offers an in-depth experience of 小樽's history and scenery, while also visiting the classic Sapporo attraction 白い恋人パーク—a truly fulfilling experience unique to a regular sightseeing bus tour.
The first destination, 小樽天狗山ロープウエイ, is an extremely popular spot known as a sacred location for film shoots. The summit station has five observation decks, and the views from there of 小樽's townscape, 日本海, and the mountains rising in the distance are also counted among the constituent cultural properties of Japan Heritage. The summit station also has shops, cafés, a ski museum, a squirrel park, a zipline, and other activities, offering plenty to see beyond the views.
There is also ザ・グラススタジオ イン オタル※ at the foot of Mt. Tengu, where you can observe the production of 小樽 glass or, with advance reservations, take part in a glassblowing experience (approximately 10–20 minutes)!
※Closed every Tuesday.
After enjoying the views, it's time for lunch. At 小樽バイン, renovated from the “旧北海道銀行本店,” built during the Meiji era, you can enjoy a seafood grill while taking in the atmosphere of history. Savor 小樽-style marinated herring and seasonal seafood.
After filling up, the next destination is 旧日本郵船小樽支店※. Built in 1906 (Meiji 39), this modern European Revival-style building is both a constituent cultural property of Japan Heritage and a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan. Inside, every detail has been lavishly crafted, from the column designs and wallpaper to the ceiling decorations, telling the story of 小樽's former prosperity to this day.
※As the facility is closed every Tuesday and on 9/24, the tour will not stop there, and the 小樽 sightseeing itinerary will be extended to approximately 3 hours.
After visiting the historic building, get off at 小樽運河ターミナル and enjoy free time exploring the town of 小樽! The surrounding area is dotted with attractions such as 小樽運河, 出抜小路, 堺町通り, and the Kitaichi Glass, 小樽オルゴール堂, and 北菓楼 shops lining the street, so we recommend deciding in advance which places you would like to visit.
On the way back to 札幌, the tour stops at the confectionery theme park 白い恋人パーク for sightseeing and shopping※. Highlights include an English garden filled with approximately 200 rose bushes and seasonal flowers, as well as a clock tower where mechanical animal figures perform a delightful parade on the hour, every hour.
※Visiting the paid area is optional.
The appeal of this course is that you can fully enjoy the historic landmarks and popular attractions of 小樽 and 札幌. Why not enjoy an ambitious sightseeing experience on this bus journey departing from and returning to 札幌?
