Experience Kendo, a traditional Japanese martial art, in Okinawa.
We offer a Kendo (Samurai) Experience for visitors from overseas as a special part of their Okinawa sightseeing, providing an opportunity to directly engage with Japanese tradition.
Participants can experience the most important elements of kendo, including proper etiquette, basic movements, techniques, and match-style practice. Practical instruction is provided by an instructor with over 20 years of kendo experience.
Recommended Points:
Through kendo training, you can learn the principles of “unity of mind,” “manners,” and “lifelong practice.” These three values are at the heart of kendo.
In addition to striking techniques and competitive skills, you will also learn about the history and formal etiquette of kendo.
You will further experience its mental and cultural aspects. We invite you to feel kendo through mind, technique, and body.
*Each experience session lasts 90 minutes.
