Amanohashidate Viewpoint Amanohashidate, situated in Miyazu Bay along the Sea of Japan coast, ranks among Japan's "Three Scenic Spots," joining Matsushima in Mutsu and Miyajima in Aki. This sandbar stretches roughly 3.6 kilometers and owes its formation to coastal sediment buildup. Around 8,000 pine trees of varying heights cover the sandbar, while white sand beaches frame both its eastern and western edges, producing a landscape of striking natural beauty. The formation's resemblance to a diagonal bridge ascending skyward inspired its name, "Amanohashidate." The temple's entry gate stands as the Tango region's largest. A distinctive practice here involves fan-shaped fortune-telling: when the fan hangs inverted, its blade progressively expands, representing gradual improvement and good fortune. Ine Funaya Ine Village earned recognition as one of Japan's 18 most beautiful settlements and showcases distinctive floating funaya structures, delivering an authentic experience absent from typical tourist attractions. More than 230 funaya buildings line a 5-kilometer south-facing stretch of Ine Bay's shoreline, where locals maintain their centuries-old relationship with the sea. Crystalline waters, deep forest-covered slopes, the constantly shifting palette of the sky, and the striking hues of the funaya themselves—treasured symbols of Japanese design—combine to create an unfiltered natural experience unique to Ine.
