The fireworks display marking the finale of Kochi Prefecture’s Konan City Minakoi Port Festival, a beloved summer tradition in Konan City, lights up the night sky over Yoshikawa Fishing Port. The event attracts large crowds every year with its lively, community-centered festival atmosphere and spectacular fireworks launched along the coast.
Event Overview
The Konan City Minakoi Port Festival was created in 2007 by combining the former Yoshikawa Port Festival and Noichi Fireworks Festival, and has since grown into an even larger summer celebration. At the Shikoku region’s largest outdoor stage, Tennenshoku Theater, visitors can enjoy yosakoi dancing and performances by local groups, followed by a fireworks display at the festival’s climax.

Stage events such as yosakoi dancing take place at Tennenshoku Theater from the daytime, while the area around the venue comes alive with the “Delicious Food Market” and rows of street stalls.
Access
The area around the venue is expected to be extremely crowded, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation and the free shuttle buses.
Getting there by train
The nearest station is Noichi Station on the Tosa Kuroshio Railway Gomen-Nahari Line. From Noichi Station, the venue is approximately 10 minutes away by taxi.
Using the shuttle buses
Free shuttle buses will run from Noichi Fureai Center and Yasu Station (Yasui Park) to the venue. In particular, visitors arriving by car can avoid congestion by parking at one of the temporary lots near these shuttle bus stops and transferring to a shuttle bus.
Getting there by car and parking
Under normal conditions, the venue is approximately 10 minutes by car from the Nangoku IC on the Kochi Expressway and approximately 5 minutes from the Kochi Ryoma Airport IC. However, significant traffic congestion is expected on the day of the event.
The following locations will be available as temporary parking areas. There are approximately 1,000 parking spaces in total, and parking is free.

Lesser-Known Viewing Spots
Here are several recommended spots for anyone who would like to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fireworks at a more relaxed pace.
Kochi Airport Green Plaza / Around Kochi Airport
This park near Kochi Airport is a unique spot where you can watch planes take off and land alongside the fireworks. Although it is some distance from the launch site, you can enjoy the spectacular display in a relatively relaxed setting. It is also recommended for families with children.Monobe River embankment area
Located west of Yoshikawa Fishing Port, the Monobe River embankment area is a little farther from the launch site, but offers an unobstructed view and a comparatively peaceful place to watch the fireworks. It is ideal for anyone who wants to spread out a leisure sheet and wait for the display at a leisurely pace.Yasui Park (around Roadside Station Yasu)
The area around Yasui Park, some distance from the venue, is also known as a place where the fireworks can be viewed. Since it is also a shuttle bus stop, one option is to drive there, take the shuttle bus to enjoy the festival atmosphere at the main venue, and then watch the fireworks from a quieter spot farther away.
