Highlights
Fireworks Launched Close to the Lake
The fireworks are launched from over the lake. They explode remarkably close to the viewing area, creating an exhilarating experience as the sound and light reverberate through your entire body. While approximately 4,000 fireworks is fewer than at large-scale displays, the close distance more than makes up for it.
Underwater Fireworks Reflected on the Lake
The fireworks are reflected on the surface of Lake Goshoko, creating the impression that the fireworks are blooming twice—once in the sky and once on the water. This scene, often called “upside-down fireworks,” is something that can only be achieved on a lake.
Spectacular Scenery with Mount Iwate in the Background
The Ou Mountains, including Mount Iwate, form the backdrop. The setting, surrounded by mountains and a lake, creates a composition unlike the fireworks displays held in urban areas.
The Shion Statue and Fireworks
The moments when the fireworks overlap with the “Shion Statue” near the venue are known as a photogenic spot. If you bring a camera, try capturing the display from this angle.
Starmines including 7-inch shells, as well as music-synchronized fireworks, will also be launched.
Daytime Events
Events begin at 16:00. The outdoor stage in front of Lake Goshoko features traditional Sansa dancing, taiko performances, Tsunagi mikoshi and more. Numerous food stalls will also be open, so arriving early and enjoying the entire day is recommended.
